The City of Victorville offers the following organics recycling programs for Victorville businesses to help them comply with State laws AB 1826 and SB 1383, and City of Victorville Victorville Ordinance No. 2425 (Municipal Code Chapter 6.37). 

Food Waste Collection Program

Commercial food waste collection is available five days per week, Monday through Friday. There is no Saturday or Sunday service available at the present time. Service is offered in 65-gallon carts. For customers with large amounts of food waste, 2-cubic yard bins are also available. Customers can order multiple carts or bins for food waste. Customers can choose service from one to five times per week.

Food Donation

There are a number of non-profit organizations which provide free collection of surplus edible food for distribution to the community's food insecure population. Click here for information on food donation programs.

Green Waste Collection Program

Green waste collection for businesses is currently offered once a week on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on where in the City the business is located.  Service is offered for commercial customers as a 95-gallon cart or 1.5, 2, or 3-cubic yard commercial bins. Customers can order multiple carts or bins for their location if needed.

Wood Waste Collection Program

Wood Recycling Program—Roll-off Service

The following types of wood can be recycled through the City of Victorville commercial roll-off recycling program.  Roll-off containers from 10 to 40 cubic yards are available.  Regular scheduled service or one time, "on call" service can be arranged.  To get started, call (760) 955-8615.   

ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS--Clean, “Blond” wood:

  • Pallets
  • Clean, dimensional lumber

Other, “Manufactured” wood products:

  • Plywood             
  • Particle board 
  • Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)
  • Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)
  • Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL)
  • Oriented Strand Board (OSB)
  • Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT)

Wood can be painted and can have nails in it.  “Demolition” wood (e.g. slats from old fences) can be accepted, but must be clean—no metal poles, no wood posts in concrete footings, no pressure treated posts, etc.

The following items are NOT accepted for recycling.

  • No “composite board” (combination of plastic and wood
  • No railroad ties (Requires special handling and disposal. Contact the City.)
  • No pressure treated wood (Requires special handling and disposal. Contact the City.)  
  • No hazardous materials. 
  • No wooden furniture, desks, bookcases, etc.
  • No wood mixed with trash or demolition materials. 
  • No wood painted with lead-based paint.

Green Waste and Wood Waste Drop-off Program 

Green waste (garden trimmings) and wood products can also be dropped off for a fee at the Victor Valley Compost Facility, located at 17888 E. Abbey Ln. in Victorville.  Hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Joshua trees, cactus, and/or treated wood is NOT accepted.  Call Victor Valley Compost at 760-241-1284 for current tipping fees and details on accepted materials.
