Indoor Kit:
A variety of high efficiency retrofit devices are available to reduce inefficiencies in your indoor water use and help you save hundreds of gallons of water per year.
- Bathroom Faucet Aerators (2) – Aerators are small, round devices you can screw into the tip of your faucet for a smooth, splash free stream of water. A 1.0gallon per minute (gpm) aerator can save more than 50 percent of the water used vs. a standard 2.2 gpm faucet aerator. Based on the aerator you choose to install; you can save anywhere from 2 to 16 gallons of water per day.
- Toilet Flapper- A leaky flapper, which controls how much water from the toilet tank goes into the bowl, can waste gallons of water between flushes. So, if your toilet flapper is leaking, replacing it will save you money.
Note: By replacing old, inefficient toilets with WaterSense labeled models, the average family can reduce toilet water used by 20 to 60 percent
- 5 Min. Shower Timer- Shortening your shower to five minutes, you can reduce the amount of water that you use by nearly one-third, or roughly 10 gallons per day!
- Toilet Leak Detection Tablets- You may not realize you have a toilet leak until you see the increase in your water bill. The average leaky toilet can waste about 200 gallons of water per day. That's over 6,000 gallons a month ($70.06*) for just one leaking toilet!
- Kitchen Faucet Aerator-Replacing old, inefficient faucets and aerators with WaterSense labeled models can save the average family 700 gallons of water per year, equal to the amount of water needed to take 45 showers.
