The California State Fire Marshal mandates annual inspection of certain occupancies, and requires local jurisdictions to conduct those inspections.  Upon renewal of your business license, the City of Victorville Fire Inspector will contact you to schedule an inspection.  For any additional questions, please email us at fireprevention@victorvilleca.gov, or call our office at (760) 955-5227.

Following are the occupancy groups that require a California State Fire Marshal mandated inspection:

• Organized camps - group C occupancy
• Day care facility, 7+ clients not requiring assistance (group E occupancy
• Public and private schools - group E occupancy
• Health care facilities/nursing homes/detox centers - group I-2 occupancy
• Detention facility - group I-3 occupancy
• Day care facility, 7+ clients requiring assistance - group I-4 occupancy
• Multi-family housing (hotel/motel/apartments)- group R-1/R-2 occupancy
• Residential care facility - group R-2.1 occupancy
• Family day care (large & small) - group R-3 occupancy
• Residential care facility - group R-3.1/R4 occupancy
• High rise buildings
