Victorville Fire Department inspectors are your partners in safety.  Our Fire Inspectors help ensure businesses in Victorville are free of hazards that pose injury to people or damage to your business.  Fire inspections are conducted annually for all commercial businesses in the city of Victorville, as well as businesses (such as family day care) that are State Fire Marshal regulated occupancies. 

In order to most effectively and conveniently make this service available, the inspection will be conducted and the associated inspection fee invoiced as part of your business license application and annual business license renewal thereafter. 

Before the Inspection

During the Inspection 

During the inspection, the Fire Inspector will use a checklist as a guide to identify violations.  If any violations are identified, a detailed list and description of the correction needed will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the inspection.  If your inspection is approved, you will also receive an emailed inspection report.

Failed Inspections or Re-Inspections

If violations are identified and corrections are required, a re-inspection will be scheduled by the Fire Inspector.  The Fire Inspector will provide the business owner with an anticipated re-inspection date.

Annual Operational Permits

Business operations that are considered hazardous, simply as a result of the normal business operation and use of the building (i.e. carbon dioxide systems in beverage dispensing, dry cleaning, high-piled combustible storage, places of assembly), will also receive inspection for those hazards and be issued an annual operational permit in conjunction with the business license.
