How to prepare carpet for recycling.

Carpet Recycling in California Resources.

Why Recycle Carpet?  California landfills accept more than 350 million pounds of carpet every year.  Disposing of carpet in the trash takes up valuable landfill space and wastes valuable resources.

Recycling is a better way to dispose of used carpeting. Old carpet can be made into useful new items like signs, insulation and even new carpet and padding.  An added bonus of recycling is that it is cheaper than landfill disposal.  You can recycle your carpet at the MRF for about half the cost of disposing of the carpet at the County landfill.  Recycling carpet is good for the environment AND good for your wallet!
