Plan to attend our next Shred-Fest, Mulch Giveaway, and Recycling Event on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Victor Valley Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), located at 17000 Abbey Ln., in Victorville.  All activities are free and open to all residents of the Victor Valley.

Free Document Shredding: This event will feature drive-through document shredding.  Residents can bring up to four banker boxes of paper documents to be shredded.  A shredding company will be on site, so residents can watch their documents get shredded.  Shredding will occur from 8 a.m. until noon, or whenever the shred truck fills up, whichever occurs first.  Please place boxes of paper into the trunk of your vehicle to facilitate unloading.

Free Drop-off of TVs, Computers, Appliances, Scrap Metal, and Electronic Waste:  Individuals and businesses can drop off TVs, computers, scrap metal, electronics, and appliances for free during the event.  No car parts or compressed gas cylinders.

Free Recycling of Mattresses & Box Springs:  Twin, full, queen, and king mattresses and box springs can be dropped off for free by valley residents.  Futon mattresses will also be accepted.  No sleeper beds, crib mattresses, or mattresses from businesses will be accepted.

Free Compost/Mulch Giveaway:  Bring a hard-sided container to load compost into.  Attendants will load your container for you.  Combined limit of 50 gallons total per household.

Redeem Your CRV:  The MRF's Buy Back Center will be open, so you can redeem CRV bottles and cans for cash.

Attendees must remain in their vehicles until instructed by an attendant to unload their items.

COVID-19 protocols for the event will be as follows:

• Social Distancing is encouraged for all.

• Those who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have a fever of 100.4 should not attend.
